Title: Help Post by beadbabe on Jul 3rd, 2007, 1:19am Me again. I can't say I have been overly focussing on the beats but yesterday, all last night and this morning, I am having runs of 10-12 ectopics and the longest gap I am having with a normal regular heart beat is about 15 beats in normal rythm. Sometimes I am having runs of ectopics that go on constantly for 20 mins. I am not as worried as I was about them more resigned and just thinking oh well. should I be concerned? What I don't understand is I had one day last week when they were not very noticeable and believe me I was watching for any that might sneak in. In fact I was more testing myself that they were really gone and I wasn't just ignoring them. I am doing nothing different and they are getting worse these last couple of days. I am so disappointed because that day when they were getting better reminded me of how my life used to be and filled me with hope that was taken away the day after. I suppose I am also worried because of all the things I have read by people with these, I havent heard of anyone having them thsi frequently. I am actually feeling slightly less anxious recently but that is probably the medication starting to work rather than my thought processes. But I tell you what, if I didn't have these palpitations I would be so happy and relaxed. |
Title: Re: Help Post by saab on Jul 3rd, 2007, 4:08am Good to hear that the meds are working, Beadbabe. I have heard of people having ectopics all day for years on end (or feeling like they have). Remember RLR says that he has never known benign ectopics to lead to anything. The fact that you had a day when they weren't there or not so noticable shows that they can go - why shouldn't they disappear altogether eventually? Hang in there. |
Title: Re: Help Post by Kathryn on Jul 3rd, 2007, 7:55am Hi Well it's good that they are slowing down at times, but like you said you couldn't let it rest you were constantly well why aren't I getting them and looking for every possible ectopic, so you probably brought the this bought on my worrying about this bought! :) It can't be nice getting that many, but my brother in laws cousin did and his tests come back normal and they put him on beta blockers just to ease it. So it is obviously how your body reacts, it would be pretty boring if we were all the same. You are so obsessed with it. (if we're honest we all are to an extent and we need to stop it) Like your last post you read something and then generalized it to you, and you can't even remember what the rest of it was about, if you'd read the whole thing you may have got some background info to show that it was nothing like your situation. Thats not good, you are setting yourself up for them over and over. But saying that you don't have to have done anything differently, it could be your hormones, are you keeping a diary, you could be ovulating or due for your period, your still young so menopause is unlikely but it takes years so you could be in the very early stages of that! You could be constipated or eaten something that irritates things. Thats why I have said to keep a diary, there possibly may not be a link, but if there is something that irritates them you can help get rid of that, I'm not saying get rid of them but get them less frequent. Counselling and CBT are the right steps with the anxiety. Hope you feel less anxious soon. Kath x |
