Title: Holiday Post by Kathryn on Aug 11th, 2007, 1:18am Hi all Got back off holiday early hours this morning, we had amazing weather we only had 2 rainy days and considering the weather this year we've been really lucky, so am nice and tanned and had a great time. I am quite pleased with myself, our friends come again this year and we didn't share, but they were quite petty on the beach and things I'd normally get myself all worked up over I managed to control. Also my heart missed beats and I normal allow this to stop me going in the sea as I thought the coldness of the water may irriatate it, but I went in and jumped the waves quite a bit, and yes I had weird beats and my heart raced, still a bit confused as to if that was a normal reaction as I generally am not that energentic I'm active but not exerting myself that much, as the currents in the sea are quite hard going. But I still did it and still went in again and again. The only thing which I think I've asked before is, why I get a dull ache with some missed beats, whats the difference between ones that don't hurt and those that do. So I am quite proud of myself, I was determined to have a good holiday and I did, and we were just so fortunate with the weather. I hope you are all ok, Kath x |
Title: Re: Holiday Post by angiebaby on Aug 12th, 2007, 5:52am Well done!! I am so pleased that you had a good time and very proud of you for being able to ignore what your heart was doing, well admiration really. They really stop me doing things and i hate that but you carried on anyway and that is fantastic. I am also very jealous that you are tanned. Lol. I am very fair and freakly, blonde, and don't tan, just go red, blister and suffer a lot of pain and that is even with a factor 30 on the same as my kids. Congrats for doing so well and having such a fab time.xx |
Title: Re: Holiday Post by RLR on Aug 13th, 2007, 10:23am Well that's great news Kathryn. By virtue of havng such a wonderful time, you now see that the palpitations are truly harmless in nature. The question regarding pain is quite easy to explain. In my experience, I have not observed patients suffering any actual pain associated with palpitations, but rather dull or sharp pain from indigestion or trapped gas that typically accompanies palpitations suffered by many folks. So it's important to make the proper association with regard to the events, ie trapped air and pain or discomfort that can also bring about palpitations. The discomfort can occur at any point, either before or after you notice the palpitation. Sounds as though you're doing quite well and I was quite pleased to read your posting about how much you enjoyed your vacation time at the beach. I would plan on many, many more because you have a long life ahead of you. Your experience is also to be held as a fine example for other members to the forum that they need not let the palpitations restrict their lifestyle and desire to enjoy all that life has to offer. Best regards and Good Health |
