Title: muscle fasciculation

Can you please give some input about muscle fasciculation as is related to palpitations or weird feelings in the chest?

Okay, true fasciculations are manifested when communication between nerve endings and the tissues is degraded. This is not the same as traditional muscle spasms, which arise merely as a consequence of wayward nerve impulses of varying frequency and duration.

So the term fasciculation as it is used in the context of sensations in the thoracic cavity or chest wall during vagus nerve-induced palpitation events would be an inappropriate usage of such terminology.

Realize that sensations in the chest which arise during or immediately proximal to vagus nerve-induced palpitation events is quite common and it must be remembered that it is rather spontaneous nerve impulses which give rise to the palpitation events, but equally important is the fact that all terminal endings of the vagus nerve are stimulated at the same moment the palpitation event occurs. Only because the heart is such a dynamic muscle and organ do you overtly sense the results so provocatively, but the nerve impulse nevertheless is producing varying levels of stimulation at other terminal endings as well.

There is nothing to be concerned about with respect to this phenomenon. It is merely part of the general response yielded by the occurrence of the palpitation events.

Best regards and Good Health
