hi everyone

i have had what i call missed heartbeats for a number of years (21 to be exact after i had my daughter) these palps have waxed and waned over the years and i have managed to live alongside them. they mainly appear prior to menstruation and when i am anxious.

my dad passed away last week and these palpitations have returned with vengeance i suppose as part of the shock / grief

is this normal ? s along with this i have a permanent knot in my stomach

i just didn't expect to feel like this

Oh my, so sorry for your loss.

I guess I dont know if that is why they have returned with a vengeance but can tell you they are common after bereavement, even for those who have never had them previously

Losing a loved one can be very traumatic. I've lost both of my parents and I know how hard it can be. I'm assuming you have had tests in the past if you have been dealing with this as long as you say you have been. If those have all been fine, I'm sure it's just the trauma from your loss.

It is entirely normal to experience the reconstitution or exacerbation of benign palpitations during periods of grief from the loss of a loved one.

Such a manifestation does not suggest a problem to be present, however, and once you've moved distant from the immediate aftermath of the circumstances, you'll find the palpitations to once again demonstrate a more subtle and intermittent pattern.

I offer condolences in the wake of your loss and to inform you that you are in no physical danger as a result of the presence of the palpitation events.
