Hi all,

Sorry I haven't been very involved lately.

I've had quite a few missed and stranged beats past few days, but then have been stress and anxious so...

Question for RLR,

A friend mentioned a few weeks back now about a friend who had really bad palpitations along with other symptom's and it turned out she had Candida, now I thought I'd have a read up and the symptoms did match, but then 1/2 of them can be through anxiety as well, so I did the spit test and it did what it showed on the picture.  Now I have been putting off going to the doctors because I don't want to come across as a hypocondriact! but not sure if I should be tested?

You advice would be great.

I have posted on general matters about something else, and it would be great for ideas and advice.

Thank you

My stars, Kathryn. You certainly look far and wide for answers, I'll give you that much.

In virtually all cases of candidiasis except where the immune system is compromised, it appears in the form of oral candida which is more commonly known as thrush and is extremely common. We typically see it arise in patients taking certain antibiotic therapy.

It is easily cured by swishing a teaspoon of vinegar in the mouth for about 1 minute once in the morning for 1 or 2 days at most.

Just so you're aware, the characteristics of spittle in a water medium can take on various forms for many reasons, including deyhdration, etc. and I would not place any confidence in such results whatsoever. Leave it to the herbalists and holistic practitioners to encourage the spit test to confirm candida infections so you'll buy their products to purge your body of all those nasty germs and infectious agents. As I said, even if you had oral thrush (candida albicans), which I highly doubt, then a teaspoon of table vinegar works as well as any prescribed agent.

Also, palpitations are not among the symptoms for oral candadiasis. I'm not certain of your friend's actual medical history and chief complaint in this instance, but the presence of benign palpitations were likely the conseqence of anxiety.

Hi

Thank you for your reply, I know most of it if not all of it is due to Anxiety and I am slowly getting better, but I suppose my thoughts were that if I had that then all my efforts with the Anxiety were wasted as I would never make the progress I want.

My friend said that her friend had bad benign Palpitations, she has no medical history and we were just chatting in general, after I said I didn't want a glass of wine and they said why and I said that I have to be careful what I eat and drink etc.. but her friend was grumpy, had frequent thrush and UTI's and when she got treatment for the Candida that all stopped, I suppose I made the assumption about the palpitations as I read that candida is in your bowel and the knock on effect that problems with your digestive tract that can then relate to the vagus nerve being stimulated and then in turn heart palpitations, to be honest thats the first time in a long while I looked up anything, I don't try and look for answers anymore as I have had to accept it's anxiety along with digestive irritation, but because I get frequent UTI's and I get thrush nearly every month just before my period, as well as the other things which can be anxiety/IBS related to, I thought it might be worth a read.

I won't bother with the doctors then.  Smiley

Thank you for the information.

okay, vaginal candida, while of the same yeast variety, is quite typical of women during menstrual cycle and usually occurs because of changes in acidity. We do not, however, typically see "oral" thrush develop except in the cases I described earlier. So although I can reasonably presume which variety you frequently encounter, experiencing oral thrush that coincides with your menstrual cycle would be somewhat apart from normal to say the least.

In any event, I think the translation of what actually had taken place with the person you mentioned may have become a bit lost since it was an account told to you by a friend of a friend. The actual circumstances may be somewhat different than the information you are using to base your assumptions.
