Vigorous shaking after nap?
Nov 28th, 2007, 11:34am

Hello, i have had this before but not for a long time and had forgotten about it to be honest. But i had a little doze on the chair whilst watching tv earlier and when i woke up i was shaking all over very vigorously. It was completely involuntary and i was not cold or over hot. I got up to go the loo and was the usual 'fuzzy headed' and 'jelly legges' but nothing new there and did feel spaced out which is another usual for me. The shaking did stop after a while and i was ok again, but nervous then and curious, as i have had this before, as to why it happens and if anyone else has this. It is a nasty experience and played on my mind for a while, but it was just the after effects in my memory i think.
Anyone have any answers please?x

sometimes you can get a bit startled when you wake up from sleep or a nap? so maybe a bit of extra adrenaline you could do without?

I haven't had this after a nap - but I once had palpitations so badly (racing heart mixed with ectopics) that I was shaking uncontrollably for about 20 mins. (Also had it at the dentist after injections - which the dentist told me contained adrenaline so it was probably my body trying to get rid of it.)

I can imagine that is all it is.

Hi,
I wake up shaking all the time especially after napping.  Sometime at night if I wake up I also get this also.  I don't know what causes it but I don't think it's a problem.  It's a strange feeling but it goes away after a few minutes.

Hi angie,

I've had a similar shaking feeling on waking up!! I get it in the middle of the night sometimes and its quite disconcerting. I've had it when waking from naps and as I said, in the middle of the night, but I don't think I've had it if I wake up in the morning from a "normal" good nights sleep... what causes it - I DON'T know!!!  Shocked

Hi, strange feeling isn't it?  It doesn't happen everyday or everytime i take a nap - that doesn't happen very often anyway, but it is still a horrible feeling isn't it?x
