Carbonated drinks
May 19th, 2008, 1:00pm

I was wondering if carbonated drinks could affect the vagus nerve. I drink quite a lot of carbonated water and consequently swallow  a lot of 'extra' air/CO2.
Any thoughts anyone?
I'm still looking for a way of controlling the ectopics!! Not obsessively but with interest!

I don't drink soda but I do drink mineral water which has carbonation.  It does cause me to have palpitations sometimes but if I burb it relieves them.

Hi there.  I personally used to love a long, cold, fizzy drink but try to stay away from them now due to the ectopics and it definately makes them worse!!  I just have the odd drink now and then and have gone onto fruit flavoured STILL water instead of the fizzy one's, don't have the same bite but still lovely.  I would prefer to drink still drinks and have less ectopics though.  Unfortuanately i do miss the larger that i used to drink, lol.xx
