Still getting LOTS of PVC's..
Sep 17th, 2008, 7:58pm

Hi RLR and Everyone,

So since my last posting 8/19 I believe, I have been learning to deal with these, by ignoring them and not letting them get to me and understanding where they orginate from and telling myself they are not harmful.

Yet, they are STILL here and in the same amounts if not worse.  My heart is skipping every other beat sometimes for HOURS and when its not every other beat, its always every 3-7 heartbeats that it will skip.  Now I do not want to do the math as I do NOT want to know the number of skips I get in those 24 hours, but I do not its a lot!

More than anything they are so annoying!  It's not that I am scared (well maybe still a little) but moreso just irritated that they will not subside.

So any words of wisdome RLR, or anyone else?  Maybe this is just something I will have to live with?

I get woken up from them about 3-4 times a week, always between 4:00-6:00 with the skips...

They are just SO annoying!

Thanks,

Steff

Okay, these palpitations are entirely anxiety-related and once you've started to address the underlying cause of the anixety and instrument some necessary lifestyle changes, you will see a reduction in your symptoms. Remember that the variation of the palpitations does not constitute something new. It's still the same causal factors discussed previously.

You're going to be fine, but again it's going to require you to take a closer look at the circumstances that may be inducing anxiety to the extent that physical symptoms such as the palpitations become prominent.

Best regards and Good Health

Steff, I know RLR's views on supplements, and he is most probably right, but I do believe that magnesium has worked to some degree for me to lessen my symptoms, whether it's a psychosomatic effect or not. Have you at least tried this, even just to rule it out? My cardiologist is skeptical yet he is the one who told me that some of his patients swear by it, so that's why I tried. I was desperate, and didn't want to use beta blockers.

I sure feel for you if you are getting skipped beats for hours at a time, that's really tough. You say "It's not that I am scared (well maybe just a little)" ... and that does reveal some underlying anxiety. I do believe you have to get to the point of categorically stating, and meaning, that they don't scare you one little bit. Easy to say, extremely hard to do, I know, when you are living with one of the worst feelings in the world.

Hugs,
Carol

Hey Steff,
These old skippies just stay with us don't they SmileyToday I went and worked out and that set them off Undecided I am doing alot better also but sometimes they catch me off guard Shocked I do take beta blockers. At first it was for the palps but now it's for the blood pressure, from the anxiety, from the palps Grin

Thanks everyone...

I am still getting continuous PVC's.  One right after the other all day, everday!  When I get a skip say every 10-20 beats, that is a GOOD day!  *sigh*   I am going to work harder on the anxiety issued.  Even though I do not readily *feel* anxious, I know its deep rooted and causing problems.  I also have a lot of stress in my life (who doesn't!?) and so I am working on lessending that, more mentally.

At times I just cry though because I think HOW can I just keep getting these?  I am just tired of feeling them all day and think its not normal, but again I know that is my anxiety/worry getting the best of me.  And I know it only serves to worsen the symptom (pvc's)...  I will keep working at it though..

Thanks for listening once again.   Cheesy

Steff,

I know how you feel. I am having a bad palp day today, and I am crying. I wish these horrid things would just go away and leave me alone.... :'(

I am sorry you are having a bad day..   It is definitely hard when feeling and dealing with these.  I am hardly ever pvc free.  They are constantly here every 3 beats or so.  I cry sometimes too out of pure frustration.  I keep telling myself I have been through these before and I can get through them again.  And I am trying to work on the anxiety in my life and stressors which I believe are the biggest culprit in being precipiting factors.

You will be okay -- we ALL will, we just have to figure out what in our lives our causing us anxiety and increasing the pvc's.

Try to ignore them too.  When they are really bad, instead of crying, get mad at them and get up and distract yourself.  That is what I try to do during the day.  It's at nightime when I am lying down that I focus on them because they are so frequent.  I know they are frequent during the day as I feel them, but I find when I am busy I do not focus on them as much.

Hugs to you!

I hope these settle down for us both and SOON...

Take care...

Hugs,
