Is it true that hot flashes will increase your heart rate?  I notice that I wake up several times during the night (and this was happening before my panic disorder became bad) with hot flashes and notice that my pulse is much more rapid.  I usually take off the covers until I cool down.  I find that during this time I really need to breathe calmly or else my pulse will start going very fast because I get panicky.  I do get the hot flashes during the day, also, but because I am awake, I seem to be able to catch myself from panicking easier than when you wake up that way.

I can only tell you of my experience.

I still get a few, but when I was pre menopausal and for many years when I had a hot flush (Sometimes) I would have head rush and racing heart. it did not last long and this was long before the palps.

Since I have had the palps I get a hot flush/flash too and I am never sure if its the tail end of menopuase or part of the symptoms
