Back from my trip
Dec 17th, 2010, 5:15am

Hi guys, have been away for a couple weeks. I went to go visit my family. It was a great time, rode horses everyday and played with all the other farm aminals. Had my usual palps but did not let them bother me, so none the less I'm not afraid to travel anymore THANK GOD!!! We are accually talking about moving out there.

Funny though, when we got back my first day back at work, I got stuck in palp mode for 4 hours, and guess what??? I just went about my business, went out to lunch and they eventually passed. I can still literally, drink a big glass of milk and within 20 minutes they stop. It's like a rescue remedy for me. I dont get it, I'm assuming it either settles my belly down or I am slighly low on potassium. But anywho, I'm experimenting now, I'm drinking a glass of milk every evening. It's been 3 days and I have had 1 palp total and it came when I bent down. I dont count those really, because I feel its positional and nothing can stop that. I will let you all know how it goes. Oh I also ate a GIANT meal last night, and still nothing  Grin, so fingers crossed.

But I feel great and it feels reallly good to not fear going places and enjoying life. I thank you all and RLR for helping me get to this point, I feel more and more like myself everyday and I don't think there is any going back because I am able to cope with the episodes now without panicing.

Thanks everyone  Smiley

That's wonderful. I'll have to give the milk thing a try.

How wonderful. I shall stock up on milk and give it a try. I have a pamphlet that lists natural sedatives in foods....Milk is on that list, woth celery and lettuce

Well Abby, I'm pleased to hear that you are doing so well. Perhaps we should hold you up as a shining example of the harmlessness of the condition and its inability to portray one's outlook as anything but hopeful.

Best regards and Good Health

Thank you everyone.

RLR I hope that I have helped inspire people not to live in boundries because of these, life really is short. And one thing you said that helped me is "that being at home when having palps occur does not afford me anymore saftey than being anywhere else."

Typer interesting point about milk having sedative properties, it seems to calm me down, along with my stomach. I am still having my usual 3 or 4 palps a day, however, with the milk they are not as intense. I have only had one hard one, with a long pause. I know that has to do with when the extra beat occured.

I do realize though, that the truth of the matter is I just have to accept them as a part of me and live my life. Maybe one day they will be gone again, maybe they wont. As my favorite football coach says "It is what it is." Wishing them away, getting angry, trying to hide from them, or fearing them just fuels them.

Take care everyone Smiley
