birth control or panic atrack?
Jan 06th, 2011, 9:31am

so y'all know about my super scary ordeal on new years morning.

since then the palps have increased. I am constantly aware of my heart and checking in on it. the palps are always on my mind. I get them when I'm most relaxed and it scares me. I feel so defeated.

so my questions are these

could my birth control be the culprit? I'm taking an ultra low dose. the attack I had occurred just a few days before I went on the hormone free pills in my pack.

or could the attack have been a freak occurrence and my palps have increased because of it?

Have you had your thyroid tested? That was the first thing I got done when I started getting panic attacks. I just had it tested again recently because my doc said it may be causing an increase in palps if my levels are off. I'm not sure if birth control can affect you, but it does change your hormones to make you unable to get pregnant so who knows.

You could just be having an increase in anxiety and the extra adrenaline is making your vagus extra grouchy. I will say one thing, I rarley get palps when I'm on edge or nervous. It's almost ALWAYS when I'm relaxing. So say I'm anxious all day, my palps don't hit me until the evening. Not sure why that is, it just is. Main reason I've stayed away from beta blockers, I feel they would give me more palps since mine occur at a slow heart rate and not at a fast. Everyone is different however.

yeah I my thyroid gets tested every year with my complete.blood count. when I first had it tested I actually hoped it was my thyroid so there was a reason for these. it felt like I could handle this if it was my thyroid. but my thyroid looks to be in check.

I hope its not my BC I'm getting tired of.natural family planning and wondering every month if I'm pregnant. I'm trying to figure out why I had that attack, it was so out of the blue it .totally overtook me.

every time I get to a point of thinking I'm accepting and moving on this nonsense slams me squarley on my butt!
