Why so much worse in the morning?
Jan 12th, 2011, 5:47am

I am wondering if anyone else experiences this. I experience many palpitations throughout the day, but for several months, I have noticed that mine are so much worse first thing in the morning. I am still getting the sensation of frequent pauses in my heartbeat, too. But from the time until I wake up until I eat some breakfast, my palps are terrible. Is this due to dehydration? Hormones? Or some other factor? Once I get going, they seem to taper off. I still have them, but not as severe. Just wondering why this is....

In some persons, stomach acidity can increase sharply in the morning upon awakening and can produce indigestion, gas and discomfort until the breakfast meal has been consumed. This is not uncommon at all.
