Tachycardia - RLR or anyone
Jan 26th, 2011, 8:08pm

Had an episode of tachycardia tonight when I took my dog out before bedtime.  I could feel it coming on, as it was rapid before I took her out.  Started pounding when I was outside with her, and did get panicky about it.  I have been doing better with calming myself when that happens, and it usually comes down quite quickly.  Tonight though I had trouble calming myself, ended up taking a .25mg of ativan which now I wish I hadn't because it started to calm down right before I took it.  I have tapered my ativan to just .25mg in the am, and my doctor said I could stop them when I wanted to and just use it prn.  Now I feel kind of bad that I took one tonight (though I can if need to per the doctor), but I haven't taken one in the evening for months.  Guess I am just looking for reassurance that these panics/tachycardia can happen even when you do start doing better.  I have to admit that I am not really that frightened right now that the tachycardia happened, but mostly kind of depressed about it.  Plus, I'm a little worried about taking the ativan tonight.  As much as it does calm me, I still have a med phobia and it can make me nervous to take one at night when I haven't had to for so long.
