hi everyone,
i'm new here my name is laura and i've been worrying about my heart now for 2 years, the last few days i've been having heart palps every 5 or 6 beats i'm so scared! i've been to my doctor who check by pulse and heart and has said its all fine, but has booked me in for a ecg to put my mind a rest, i've had around 15 ecgs and a 24hour ecg too with fast heart rate and few ectopics everything else was fine. has anyone else had runs of palps this long? xxxx

I've had palps for 20 years Laura, since I was 16 and like you, i've had a MINIMUM of 15 ecg's and 2 24 hour one's. Only one came back saying I have Supraventricular Ectopic Beats. I always found it strange how all came back normal except that one and often wonder what else could be found if I were to have more? RLR has assured all is normal though which is main thing. As for you having palps every 6th beat ect, you could say your one of the lucky one's as some people get thousands a day  Smiley

Hi Laura,
THis forum is great, if you read the posts and the answers from RLR that will make you feel 10000 times better. It worked for me and now I am able to see anxiety in a different way, I guess it will never disappear but you will learn to manage it.
Good luck,
SK

hello everyone,
i have had pvcs for 5 years along with tachycardia(sinus). it all started with unifocal,  now i have mulitfocal, multiform, and couplets, and now pvcs in both ventricles. They still say the are benign. I have a hard time reassuringmy self or even believing that they are benign, becuse they have no idea what are causing them. THEY HAVE DIAGNOSED ME WITH SYMPTOMATIC PVCS AND SINUS TACHYCARDIA. they dont seem to be concerned. i finally broke down and started taking the beta blocker which have cut down on the pvcs. All the tests (3 echos, 1 stress test, 1 echo stress test, dozens of ecgs, 3 holter monitors, and 2 event monitors) have showed the pvcs and the tachy. The drs say that my heart is structurally normal and that i have no need to worry. But the more i read about multifocal pvcs can lead to serious ventricular arrythmias, or even arvd. These are really interupting my life, as all i want to do is sit and research what could be causing these pvcs. I just want a straight answer from a dr. instead of them telling me its benign and take a beta blocker and move on. I  never seem to feel NORMAL and just want my life back.i cant go anywhere without wondering if something is going to happen. there are so many conflicting statement on the effects of pvcs and structurally normal hearts. whatare you supposed to believe.
