Heart Palpitations at night
Jan 29th, 2012, 5:55am

Hi everyone,  I ws recently weened of high blood pressure meds after a month of use on a low dose 4mg after  a night epidode of horrible heart palpitations that sent me to the ER that morning.  The ER doc took an ekg and ran blood tests which came back fine.  He did say my BP was 134/88 and was wonderding why my GP put me on the meds in the fist place without a lifestyle chage request first.  I have since cut out all extra sodium/sugar and alcohol.  For some of my sleep issues since that episode, the ER doc gave me a 7 day supply of Lorazepam.  I took it for 3 nights no problem and thought last night skip it as I really don't want to become dependent on it as it is very addictive.  Well I fell alsleep and woke uppan hour later to a racing, pounding heart, numb left arm and tingling in face.  I was feaking as I hve never felt like this before!  Is this normal going off some meds and starting some new ones?.  I am a fit 47, good eating but has nromal/high blood pressure.  I don't know what that was this morning, but I was about 5 seconds from calling an ambulance until I calmed mysel down.  I need to hear fom any of you I am not crazy and this may be more of a panic issue going into my sleep.  I am afraid tog o to bed tonight!  Help and thx.
