Irregular narrow complex tachycardia.
Dec 13th, 2012, 4:11am

I received my results from my 7 day monitor this morning.  It says that the monitor does confirm that I am having episodes of ectopic beats bith coming from the atria and ventricles. I also had a short run of an irregular narrow complex tachycardia lasting 9 beats of around 140 bpm. The specialist cardio nurse has explained all this is normal and there is nothing to worry about. I am not convinced though. I had an echo scan of my heart. Can this show a a narrowing or blocked artery?
Can anyone please give me any info on this as I'm still getting these beats that sometimes come on and are painful too.
Many thanks in advance Wendy.

Okay, this type of vigilance is something you need to reflect upon because it is very characteristic of persons suffering from significant anxiety, particularly where questions of their heath are concerned. When you say you're not convinced, it speaks to the fact that you are dismissing the facts of logic in favor of irrational fears.

Your symptoms are not being caused by the presence of atherosclerotic plaque or other cardiopathology. An echocardiogram assesses the physical integrity of the heart muscle and examines all aspects of muscle function.

Your symptoms are benign and nothing is being overlooked. Seeking reassurance can become a lifelong pursuit if the extent of your fears reaches farther than the ability of medical science to subdue it.

You're going to be just fine and you have a long life ahead.
