Low heart rate. Bisoprolol. Tell doctor?
Jan 20th, 2011, 1:12pm

Hi,

I'm 22 and I've currently been taking 5mg of Bisoprolol for the last 6 weeks. My heart rate is now barely reaching 60. Mid 50's most of the time. Should I go back and tell my doctor or should I just carry on as normal. I don't have any dizziness from it, sometimes I feel a bit short of breath but that may be due to anxiety.  Undecided

I've had numerous cardiac tests to investigate what was causing my heart to skip and jump and sometimes race but everything came back fine. Just put it down to anxiety.

Any advice is welcome.  Smiley

Well, regardless of the fact that blood pressure levels in the range mentioned are quite normal under such treatment, particularly moreso in women than men, it's always important to discuss any observations with the prescribing healthcare professional.

Pressures in this range can sometimes produce light-headedness upon rising from a lying position, so it's also important to bear this in mind as you proceed with treatment in order to avoid any potential for accidents in that regard.

Best regards and Good Health
