Different kind of palpitation - anyone have these?
Nov 06th, 2012, 8:17am

I assume it's a palpitation anyway.

I'm 27 years old. Probably 80 pounds overweight (but have lost 15+ recently as I'm really trying)

Instead of having "skips" or "flutters", I sometimes get something I can only describe as an extremely fast irregular spasm. It takes my breath away.

I have had ecgs before and after having these, but never during. All tests have ever been clean.

It's like I go from:

1---2---3---4

to

1234--1---1234123--1---------123-----1-------1---2---3---4---1---2---3---4

and so on. it lasts for about 5 seconds but I feel my whole heart actually spams. rather than a palpitation which is generally quite a light feeling, this i can really feel in the left side of my chest, almost like my hearts choking for a few seconds. its so fast and irregular for those seconds

however, it always goes back to normal after 3-5 seconds.

anyone else get anything like this? im not bothered about ectopics, skips, flutters...ive had them so often.

but this one comes maybe 1 time a month, and it shakes my whole body and knocks my breath out.

ive never had a 24 hour holter, is it worth it? ive had ecgs and echo, blood tests...but thats it (which i know is well enough)

im sure i dont need any more tests
