metallic taste
May 04th, 2013, 3:22am

As I have posted before, I get many benign palpitations every day, usually triggered by wind and a rumbling stomach.  I also get many other minor symptoms which I try to ignore as my doctor says they are all related to stress and adrenaline.  Recently I have had a very strong metallic taste in my mouth which comes and goes during the day for no apparent reason.  I have seen on the internet that this is a symptom of stress but I can't find what it actually is.  Is it some stress-related substance that is produced in saliva or is it a trick of the mind telling me that there is a taste when nothing is actually there?

Does anyone else get this taste?

Jonp: As a response to the question, yes, the 'metallic' taste is one I suffer with too as a consequence of anxiety and hypersensitivity to my body.

Your question may be better suited to an anxiety/stress forum, since this forum specifically relates to heart palpitations. The taste in your mouth has nothing to do with your heart.
